纖維內(nèi)窺鏡與傳統(tǒng)純光學(xué)鏡片構(gòu)成的內(nèi)窺鏡或電子內(nèi)窺鏡的大區(qū)別在于傳像組采用了傳像光纖，該傳像光纖由多束導(dǎo)光纖維按照坐標對位原則面陣排列，每一根導(dǎo)光纖維作為面陣上一個像素在傳像光纖兩端的坐標位置一一對應(yīng)。物鏡將物體直接聚焦并成像于光纖面陣上，光纖面陣上的每一像素（每一根導(dǎo)光纖維）分別接收對應(yīng)位置像的光能，并將該光能傳輸傳像光纖的另一端發(fā)出，光纖面陣上的所有像素在像方端輸出的全部光能重組了物鏡的聚焦像，即達到了光纖傳像目的。

The major difference between fiber endoscopes and traditional pure optical endoscopes or electronic endoscopes is that the image transmission group uses image transmission optical fibers, which are arranged in an array of multiple light guiding fibers according to the principle of coordinate alignment. Each light guiding fiber serves as a pixel on the array and corresponds one-to-one with the coordinate positions at both ends of the image transmission fiber. The objective lens focuses the object directly and images it on a fiber optic array. Each pixel (each guiding fiber) on the fiber optic array receives the corresponding position image's light energy and transmits it to the other end of the image transmission fiber for emission. All the light energy output by all pixels on the fiber optic array at the image end recombines the focus image of the objective lens, achieving the goal of fiber optic image transmission.

The number of pixels in the image transmission fiber is a key factor limiting the resolution limit of fiber endoscopes (for a given field of view). The production of high resolution digital image transmission optical fibers involves the manufacturing capability and forming technology of a single fiber core diameter. This type of manufacturing process includes hot melt method, and arrangement process includes single-layer lamination method. Currently, the small core diameter of image transmission optical fibers is less than 5 microns. Other factors such as single fiber consistency quality and surface treatment also limit the quality of image transmission fibers.
